Georgia Regents University

Georgia Regents University (GRU), which resulted from the merging of Georgia Health Sciences University (GHSU) and Augusta State University (ASU), has a medical campus in the heart of Augusta and a liberal arts and sciences campus in the historic Summerville district.

Currently, GRU’s student population is around 10,000 students. It is comprised of nine colleges with more than 100 academic programs. GRU also offers joint enrollment for local high school students. The university is heralded for its well-rounded liberal arts and sciences, STEM discipline and medical field curriculums. It is also a major research institution with a closely aligned integrated health system. Paine College

Paine College is an Augusta educational landmark and has been since 1882 when the United Methodist Church and the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church united to train African-American teachers and clergy.

Today, Paine College offers a private undergraduate liberal arts education to a diversifying student population. The 57-acre campus hosts close to 900 students seeking degrees in business administration, humanities, social sciences, education, natural sciences and mathematics. Augusta Technical College

Augusta Technical College has the distinction of being the only technical school in Georgia to win the U.S. Secretary of Education’s Award of Excellence. With an enrollment of about 7,000 students, Augusta Technical College is a shining star in Augusta for those seeking technical degrees.

Augusta Tech is also acknowledged nationally as a college dedicated to supporting the military.
