Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans of all wars–living or dead–but makes special efforts to honor the living veterans who served our country. One of the most poignant Veterans Day ceremonies in the United States is an official wreath-laying at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery. It is a beautiful ceremony that shows America’s respect and admiration of its soldiers. Ceremonies are also held throughout the country. Brief History of Veterans Day Veterans Day first started out as Armistice Day when in 1919, U.S. President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed November 11, 1918 as the first commemoration of Armistice Day. To celebrate the day, the original concept was to hold parades and public meetings and briefly suspend business operations beginning at 11 a.m.
Armistice Day resulted from a temporary ceasefire between the Allied nations and Germany in the First World War, also known as “the Great War.” This significant event occurred on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. November 11, 1918 was considered the ending of “the war to end all wars.”

LNH Realty, LLC Giving Back to Hephzibah through the Business & Community Expo At LNH Realty, we live by our motto “Turning Opportunities into Reality.” We recently put our motto into action by hosting the Hephzibah Business & Community Expo with Gold Cross Emergency Medical Services and Augusta Recreation, Parks and Facilities. We at LNH Realty and over 50 businesses turned the Diamond Lakes Community Center in Hephzibah, Georgia into a rich opportunity for residents to discover all that the community has to offer. A number of businesses came out to share their services and goods while Gold Cross Emergency Medical Service provided free medical procedures for Hephzibah citizens including glucose testing and blood pressure checks. Other health information provided during the day focused on dental preventative care and good heart health. Children enjoyed snow cones and received free school supplies while adults won exciting door prizes and met caring business owners. All who attended talked with Safe Kids of Augusta, the Gold Cross EMS Bike Team and had an up close and personal look at to see the Gold Cross ambulance. Augusta. Home of the Masters. According to a recent article on www.houselogic.com, there was a significant decline in the number of cash home sales this past August. Only 23% of all home buying transactions last month were all-cash sales, which is the lowest overall share since January 2009. Also, it is a decline from the percentage of all-cash sales from the prior month (July 2014), which was 29%. Investors seem to be backing out of the housing market this fall, and if this trend continues, it will help even the playing field for first-time and conventional home buyers (who rely on loans to purchase homes).
